I have no fear of saying: I am an Economist and I am completely in love with it. In order to read this book you need to be neither. All you really need is to be curious and let yourself stretch your mind a little bit. My intent is not for this to be a textbook, or to pretend you will know all the ins and outs of Economics by the time you are done. What I can guarantee is that you will get to see the world from a different angle. You will learn a few basic concepts (and some not so basic) in Economics that will help you see the world from a different perspective. Nobel Prize winner Richard Feynman once said: “I don’t know anything, but I do know that everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.” This book is then an invitation for you to expand your mind, to step outside of your comfort zone, and get to experience first hand how an economist thinks, how we see the world and where do our minds go when we wander.

I am incredibly happy to announce that not only that my work was mentioned at the AMSTATNEWS Magazine from the American Statistical Association, I was also featured on the cover.

I am incredibly grateful to the American Statistical Association (ASA) and for the Women in Statistics and Data Science (WSDS) for all the support and growth I’ve received since becoming a member. Thank you to my colleague and friend Fulya Ozcan for passionately working on this with me.

Thank you Instituto Camargo Correa for covering this amazing event and giving me the privilege to be in the front cover. I am proud to be a volunteer music instructor for kids in challenging socio-economic situations. Music is a wonderful tool to make the youth feel like they are part of the community; to internalize creativity and understand the world doesn’t have to be destructive and we can always build something new.
